As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading all commercial functions to ensure projects are delivered profitably, contractually compliant and aligned with organisational objectives. This role oversees commercial governance across the project lifecycle, drives financial performance, manages key commercial processes and acts as a senior advisor to leadership on contractual, financial and strategic matters.

Responsibilities-
Oversee the commercial management of all assigned projects, ensuring strong financial performance and contractual compliance

Prepare, manage and monitor project budgets in collaboration with project teams and senior management

Advise the Managing Director and Operations Manager on commercial and contractual matters, providing regular reporting and insights

Negotiate and agree contract terms with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, valuations and financial reports across all project stages

Monitor compliance with contractual terms and conditions throughout the project lifecycle

Set financial targets, support budget development and track performance using key commercial metrics

Provide commercial input into procurement strategies, tender evaluations and bid submissions

Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, optimise margins and minimise costs

Work closely with operations and delivery teams to ensure work is executed efficiently and aligned with commercial objectives

Manage project cash flow, ensuring timely invoicing, valuations and payments

Support the Managing Director in identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities

Analyse project plans and specifications to ensure comprehensive and accurate cost forecasting

Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend commercially viable alternatives

Review and manage contracts and subcontracts to ensure alignment with project objectives and commercial governance

Track and monitor project expenses, reporting variances and implementing financial controls to prevent cost overruns

Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts to update stakeholders on financial status

Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify quantities and ensure commercial accuracy

Identify, assess and manage financial and contractual risks associated with projects, working with teams to mitigate issues promptly

Collaborate with project managers, site managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met

Build strong working relationships across project teams to support effective delivery

Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve project efficiency and overall performance
Requirements-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Business or a related field

Proven experience in a commercial management role within construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors, with strong experience managing mechanical, piping or M&E contracts across project lifecycles

Experience managing and developing commercial or quantity surveying teams within a project environment
-
Strong understanding of contract law, procurement frameworks and commercial compliance standards

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting

Skilled negotiator with experience managing contracts and subcontractor agreements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic, commercially focused mindset

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing at senior levels

Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and multiple jurisdictions

Highly organised, detail-oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to travel across Europe as required
