Full job description

We are looking for an experienced Dispatch Clerk / Office Administrator to join the team. Normal working hours on weekdays (Monday to Friday) will be 7.00am to 4:00pm. Early starts and occasional Saturday’s will be required to suit the needs of the business as and when required; appropriate notice will be given and overtime rates will apply.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented with strong administrative experience. Experience in dispatch, logistics, quarry or construction environments is an advantage but is not essential. You should have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and an approachable and friendly personality.

Working in our Dispatch Office, the duties for this position include but are not limited to:

· Process incoming orders, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling of deliveries.

· Weighbridge operation

· Answer phones, assist with customer service and prepare delivery dockets.

· Schedule drivers to make deliveries.

· Handle customer queries and payments, build and maintaining relationships with our customers and suppliers.

· Effectively communicate with customers and drivers to ensure all orders are delivered in a timely manner.

· Assist with invoice processing and credit control

· General office administration and organisation.

· Plan, organise, and manage daily transport deliveries

· Ensure all transport and delivery documentation meets regulatory and company requirements.

Skills:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a good phone manner are essential.

· Strong administrative and organisational skills.

· Ability to adjust to changes with good problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Quarry or similar industry experience highly regarded but not essential

· Proficient with MS Office and computerised accounts packages including Sage 50 desirable but not essential

· Language: Must be proficient in English (required)

· Office: 5 years (required)

The compensation package available will reflect the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience and ability, which will be discussed during interview.
