Due to growing demand for our services, Western Alzheimers are currently recruiting Carers in the community way. We are currently seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in providing compassionate care to individuals in need. The role involves assisting with daily activities and ensuring the well-being of those under your care.
LOCATIONS- Shrule, Headford , Kilmaine
Qualifications/Experience:
Desirable: FETAC Health Care (Level 5, or equivalent) or working towards same or willing to undertake to complete same. Experience in caring is desirable as is QQI Level 5 in Health Care Major Award.
Essential: is QQI Level 5 modules in Care of the Elderly/ Older Person and Care Skills.
Applicants must possess the competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with dementia. The role is to provide in-home support for people living with dementia and their carers and to assist clients with activities of daily living which ensure they are comfortable and safe within their own homes.
The primary role will be to provide companionship / support to the person living with dementia which will allow the primary carer a break. Tasks will include social interaction and meaningful activities such as a gentle walk or playing board games. Working hours can be tailored to suit your availability.
We are looking for honest and reliable individuals to support our clients and their families. Full support from a dementia specific team and all necessary dementia specific training will be provided
Full Drivers Licence & access to car required. Limited travel within your locality required.
