About the Company

Galetech Energy Services (GES) is the multi-disciplinary renewable energy consultancy and services division of Galetech Group. We provide best-in-class consenting support, technical advisory, project management and engineering services from feasibility through to construction and operation.

We are seeking a Graduate Planner to join our team at our company headquarters in Stradone, County Cavan. This is a unique opportunity to begin your career in the fast-growing renewable energy industry with a leading Irish consultancy.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have recently completed or be close to completing a third-level qualification in Planning (IPI or RTPI accredited). This is an ideal role for a motivated and organised individual with a keen interest in renewable energy, environmental policy and land-use planning.

You will join a supportive and collaborative team environment, working on real-world wind and solar projects across Ireland and gaining exposure to entire project lifecycles.

GES operates a flexible work environment with ability for all employees to work from home. However, it is a requirement of this role that the successful candidate can commit to working in person at our company headquarters in Cavan for at least the first six months

About the role

Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications for renewable energy projects
Support the compilation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and other planning documentation
Carry out desktop research, mapping and feasibility studies
Attend site visits and support stakeholder engagement activities
Work closely with senior planners and technical specialists across project teams

Desired skills

Have a third-level qualification in Planning (IPI or RTPI accredited) or be working towards obtaining one (Mandatory).
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Familiarity with Irish planning policy and legislation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with GIS or AutoCAD is a plus
A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
Full clean driving license and access to own transport
