Full job description

McBreen Environmental is seeking a skilled and motivated LGV and Commercial Mechanic to join our team based in Cavan.

About the Role:

As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and reliability. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on LGVs and other fleet vehicles
Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections
Liaise with the Head Mechanic and wider team to ensure smooth operations
Maintain garage cleanliness and manage parts inventory
Organise vehicle and equipment inspections with third parties

Requirements:

Proven experience working with light goods and commercial vehicles
Diagnostics and experience with modern vehicle electronics is desirable
High attention to detail and ability to work to quality standards
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent English communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Flexible and diligent approach to tasks
Full, clean valid Driver’s License (Category B)
