About The Job
The yard operative will be responsible for the day-to-day duties required in a busy builder’s merchant yard while maintaining high standards of customer care and health and safety.
Job Specification
Responsible for the general upkeep and organisation of the yard and warehouse area
Ensure that the warehouse and yard is always kept tidy, and that stock is clearly identifiable.
Picking, packing, and loading of trucks and customer vehicles in a safe and timely manner
Operating a forklift (forklift training will be provided for the right candidate)
Customer management: serving customers in the warehouse/yard area.
Monitoring security to safeguard against theft of goods or company property
Work as part of a team to ensure the warehouse operates efficiently and effectively.
Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company.
Building strong working relationships with customers to understand their requirements.
Liaising with the shop staff to help fulfil incoming orders.
Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective
Skills Required:
Good organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a busy environment.
A self-starter with a can-do attitude
Great interpersonal skills, natural team player, who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues but equally able to work on your own initiative.
Experience required:
Previous experience within a Builder’s Providers, while not a must, is preferred.

Essential
Experience working in a warehouse or builders merchants
Goal driven with a can do attitude
Must be extremely customer focused and results driven
Flexible approach to work
Full clean valid driver’s license
Desirable
Product knowledge in building materials
Forklift experience
Full C drivers license
Salary
Negotiable based on experience.
Pay: €1.00 per year
