Quarry Fitter / Maintenance

The Role
Due to continued growth, Dan Morrissey Quarry Group is seeking an experienced Quarry Fitter to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and optimisation of crushing, screening and aggregate washing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on quarry plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Maintain and service:
- Jaw Crushers
- Cone Crushers
- Impact Crushers
- Vibrating Screens
- Conveyors
- Aggregate Washing Plants
- Pumps, Gearboxes and Hydraulic Systems
- Perform welding, fabrication and fitting work as required.
- Replace bearings, rollers, belts, motors and wear parts.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
- Assist with plant upgrades, shutdowns and installation projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring issues.
Requirements
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar trade.
- Experience working within quarries, aggregates, mining, recycling or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of crushing and screening equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience maintaining Metso, Powerscreen, Terex, Sandvik, Finlay or similar equipment.
- Experience with aggregate washing systems and material processing plants.
- Mobile plant maintenance experience including excavators, loading shovels and dump trucks.
- Knowledge of conveyors and electrical fault-finding would be advantageous.
