Woodale Designs is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our team, producing detailed shop drawings for bespoke cabinetry, kitchens, and high-end joinery projects.
This role is suited to someone who understands how joinery is built, not just how to draw it. You must be able to take design information, site details, and project requirements and turn them into accurate production and installation drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed shop drawings for bespoke cabinetry, kitchens, wardrobes, panelling, and fitted joinery
- Prepare clear production drawings for the workshop
- Prepare installation drawings for site teams
- Work from designer briefs, site measurements, architectural drawings, and client specifications
- Liaise with designers, project managers, production staff, and installers
- Check drawings for accuracy, buildability, dimensions, materials, and hardware details
- Ensure drawings are issued on time and to a high standard
- Make revisions where required while maintaining drawing control and accuracy
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using Revit, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
- Proven experience producing shop drawings for cabinetry, joinery, or fitted furniture
- Strong understanding of joinery construction, materials, hardware, and installation details
- Ability to read architectural drawings and interpret site information
- High attention to detail
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage deadlines
- Experience in bespoke kitchens or high-end residential joinery is an advantage
The Ideal Candidate
You will be accurate, organised, and practical. You should understand that drawings are not just presentation documents — they are instructions for manufacture and installation. A strong understanding of how cabinetry is actually built is essential.
