We are seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Assistant to join our Psychology Assessment clinic based in Carlow. The position is paid involving hybrid working, with regular attendance at the clinic in Carlow required. Pay will be in line with the HSE salary scale for Psychology Assistants.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a team of Clinical Psychologists in a positive working environment that encourages learning and development to support your journey towards professional training. The Service offers a range of neurodevelopmental assessments for children across a broad spectrum of presentations. The successful candidate will facilitate important elements of psychological assessments, and develop competencies in the areas of assessment, formulation, treatment planning and report writing under supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. Teaching, training and regular supervision will be provided.
The role will involve:
· Managing appointments and coordinating clinical database.
· Communicating and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams involved with families.
· Administration and scoring of various psychometric assessments.
· Clinical interviewing with families using semi-structured assessment protocols.
· Developing clinical observation of a broad range of clinical presentations.
· Conducting elements of assessment with training and under supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
· Clinical report writing.
· Developing relevant service-based resources.
· Opportunities to participate in all elements of service-based research projects.
Hourly commitment varies and typically averages at 3.5/4 days per week dependent on caseload.
The successful candidate will have:
· A Psychological Society of Ireland accredited undergraduate qualification.
· A Psychologial Society of Ireland accredited Masters qualification.
· Access to their own transport to the place of work.
· Excellent organisation and computer skills.
· Ability to work independently/autonomously whilst holding an awareness of level of competence as a Psychology Assistant.
Desirable criteria:
· Experience of previous psychometric assessment administration, scoring and report writing.
· Experience of working with children with neurodevelopmental differences.
