Infinite Energy are a leading Irish solar PV company based in Carlow serving Ireland and Mainland Europe. Our commercial & industrial (C&I) division focuses on solar PV, battery storage, and energy-efficiency projects for businesses across Ireland.
We are specialists in “behind-the-meter” renewable systems for commercial facilities, industrial plants, warehouses, pharma sites, agricultural operations, and data centres.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Operations Manager and Technical Director to assist with pre-construction and construction activities on our strong secured pipeline.

Solar PV Project Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically strong Solar PV Project Engineer to support the full construction lifecycle of commercial solar PV projects. The role combines technical design, project planning and development, project management and project reporting, from project award through to handover to the client.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Management
- Manage technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and site assessments, when required.
- Co-ordinate and liaise with various stakeholders regarding design drawings, construction drawings and As built drawings where required.
- Complete and review all pre-construction requirements such as safety, inductions, onboarding, set ups etc. in a timely manner, ensuring no delay to construction programme.
Construction Phase
- Coordinating install teams, both roofing and electrical, client, ESB, QA to ensure smooth completion of projects.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records throughout the development phase.
- Liaising with operations manager re issues that arise – ensuring professional and prompt issue resolution.
- Accurate and timely tracking of projects, ensuring up to date progress reports. Communicate these reports to management in a timely manner, to include analytical commentary of same.
- Co-ordinate the handover process to the client post installation – to include accurate documentation, a well communicated walk through of the system etc.
- Liaise with installation teams to close out snag lists etc. in a timely manner.
- Where required, co-ordinate O&M engagements with the client, external subcontractors and our internal teams, ensuring accurate testing and reporting is completed and issued to the client.
- Any other ad hoc duties as and when required by the company.
Project Development & Business Development
- Support the sales and business development teams with technical expertise during client engagements.
- Attend client meetings, site surveys, and pre-tender discussions.
- Identify client requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
- Maintain relationships with electrical contractors, main contractors, developers, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Support market analysis and identification of new commercial solar opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or related discipline. Electrical trade or good understanding of electrical construction material and methods also advantageous.
- Strong understanding/previous experience of commercial solar PV systems is desirable.
- Experience using solar software such as Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD, or equivalents.
- Knowledge of electrical design principles, grid connection processes, and relevant standards/regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Salary dependant on experience.
Pay: €45,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
