Banada Health is a busy, friendly general practice dedicated to providing high-quality primary care to our local community. We pride ourselves on a warm, patient-centred approach and a supportive team environment. We're now looking for a part-time Practice Secretary/Administrator to join us.
About the Role
As our Practice Secretary/Administrator, you'll be a key point of contact for our patients and a vital support to our GPs and nursing team, helping to keep the practice running smoothly day to day.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering phones and dealing with patient queries in a courteous, professional manner
- Booking, amending, and managing patient appointments
- Greeting patients and managing practice reception
- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Managing referrals, correspondence, and scanning/filing of patient documents
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records (GDPR compliant)
- Liaising with hospitals, pharmacies, labs, and other healthcare providers
- Handling billing, payments, and basic invoicing
- Managing incoming/outgoing post and email correspondence
- General office administration, including ordering supplies and maintaining filing systems
- Supporting GPs and nursing staff with administrative tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a medical, healthcare, or general office administration role preferred
- Familiarity with GP practice software (e.g. Socrates, Healthone) an advantage
- Excellent phone manner and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
- Discretion and understanding of patient confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/general computer skills
- A friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach
