Full job description

Jurassic Newpark seeks a qualified and experienced Animal Care Assistant to join our team on a Part-Time basis.

The position will involve hands on care of large and small animals, including some exotics, and will involve interacting with Park guests and facilitating "Animal Encounters" where guests can meet and pet our animals.

Duties:

Responsible for care, health & well being of all animals.
Responsible for cleanliness of animals and animal enclosures.
Oversee animal interactions with guests.
Keep all animal records up to date.
Ensure animals are fed correctly and timely.
Ensure all animal vaccinations are up to date.
Ensure all animal grooming is up to date (shearing/ farrier, etc).

Person Specification:
This role requires strong communication skills, flexibility and willingness to assist in other areas of the Park, undertaking physically challenging tasks, and some administrative duties. Experience is preferable, and we would prefer the successful candidate to hold a recognised qualification in Animal Science or Animal Health Care.

The successful candidate for this position will be willing to work weekends, have good communication skills, a passion for animal care and the ability to work well as part of a team.
