About Spotlight Oral Care

Spotlight Oral Care is a fast-growing, dentist-founded oral care brand built on a simple but powerful belief: professional-grade dental care should be accessible to everyone, at home. Founded by Dr. Lisa and Dr. Vanessa Creaven, our products are rooted in clinical expertise and designed for people who care about their smile.

We are a small, ambitious team and every role here has real impact. Our products are stocked in leading pharmacies and retailers across Ireland, the UK, and internationally.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Designer with a strong background in packaging design and retail design to join our team. This is a senior, hands on role for a designer who can lead packaging and retail projects end to end, from early concept through to shelf, while also flexing across the full range of marketing and brand design work when needed.

You will work closely with the New Product Development, Marketing, and Retail teams, and will play a key role in mentoring and directing our Junior Designer.

Key Responsibilities Packaging and Retail Design

Lead the design of product packaging across the full portfolio, from concept through to print ready artwork and dieline management.
Design retail and point of sale materials, including shelf displays, in store signage, and pharmacy or retailer specific assets.
Manage packaging and retail projects end to end, liaising directly with printers, packaging suppliers, and retail partners to ensure accurate, on brand production.
Ensure all packaging meets regulatory, retailer, and production specifications while staying true to brand guidelines.
Partner closely with the New Product Development team from early concept stages through to launch.

Brand and Creative Support

Act as a brand guardian, ensuring design consistency across every touchpoint, from packaging to digital.
Mentor and provide creative direction to the Junior Designer, reviewing work and supporting their development.
Lead creative brainstorming sessions and bring strategic thinking to campaign and product launch concepts.
Manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, prioritising effectively under tight retail and production deadlines.
Support the wider marketing team with campaign assets, email design, website banners, and social media graphics when needed.
Assist with the design and production of presentation decks for internal and external use.
Bring photography, videography, or motion design skills to marketing and social content where possible, a bonus rather than a requirement.
Stay on top of visual trends across retail, packaging, and social platforms, bringing fresh thinking to the team.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Essential

A degree in graphic design, packaging design, product design, or a related creative discipline, with a strong portfolio demonstrating packaging and retail design work.
5+ years graphic design experience, with a significant portion spent on packaging and or retail design, ideally within FMCG, beauty, health, or wellness categories.
Proven experience taking packaging from concept to print, including dieline management and working directly with printers and packaging suppliers.
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
Strong understanding of print production processes and retail or point of sale design requirements.
Ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.
Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of finished, production ready artwork.
Strong communication skills and the confidence to present and defend creative decisions.

Tools and Systems

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a must for this role, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Drive).
Comfortable working in Slack.
Experience with Figma or similar tools is desirable.
An interest in how AI tools can support and enhance the design process.

Desirable

Marketing design experience, for example campaign, email, digital, and social assets.
Photography or videography skills, including experience producing short form video or content for social media.
Illustration skills.
Experience or interest in the beauty, wellness, or oral care categories.

You are a confident, experienced designer with a genuine passion for packaging and retail design, and the versatility to turn your hand to broader marketing and brand work when needed. You lead by example, bring calm and clarity to fast paced production deadlines, and enjoy mentoring more junior members of the team.

Strong creative and strategic thinking, with an eye for detail across every stage of production.
A natural leader and mentor, who communicates clearly and gives constructive feedback.
Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, from packaging suppliers to retail buyers to the internal team.
Proactive, organised, and able to manage a varied workload independently.
