Full job description

Blackrocks Nursing Home is a family run purpose built modern nursing home, located within easy access of the town of Foxford, Co. Mayo, we are located 500 Metres from the famous Foxford Wollen mills.

On the job training programme can be provided for the right candidate.

Ideal applicants for the role of Health Care Assistant would have a minimum of QQI Level 5 (or equivalent) as a major award in Healthcare to include the module in Care of the Older Person.

Training in courses including Fire Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding of Vulnerable adults, Coping with behaviours that challenge (Responsive behaviour), and manual and people handling, are an advantage.

Experience of a minimum of one year specifically as a care assistant also desirable and applicants must supply 2 suitable references and be prepared to complete a Garda Vetting application.
