Manages the technical design life cycle development and maintenance of platforms and related services using existing and emerging technologies.
We are seeking an experienced Team Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer and people manager to lead our Airport Ops & Baggage Platform/DevOps Cloud Platform Team.
This is a people management role, combining technical leadership with direct responsibility for leading, developing and managing a team of Cloud/DevOps engineers. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of managing engineering professionals, including performance management, career development, mentoring, coaching and building high-performing teams.
People Leadership & Team Management

Act as the line manager for the Cloud Platform engineering team, with direct responsibility for the performance, development and engagement of the engineering resources within the team.

Lead, coach and develop team members, providing regular feedback, performance management and career development support.

Build and maintain a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and development conversations.

Identify skills gaps and development opportunities and create plans to upskill and grow team members.

Support capacity planning, workload management and the effective allocation of engineering resources.
Technical & Delivery Leadership

Act as the key liaison with senior technology stakeholders and partners to ensure successful delivery of software releases and product roadmaps.

Lead the team on complex projects, overseeing delivery from requirement analysis through implementation and support.

Oversee the implementation of cost-effective cloud solutions that are scalable, efficient and secure.

Work with the SITA Agile Practice Group to identify and implement the optimum Agile model and processes for the team.

Participate in the definition and evolution of platform engineering practices, technical processes and guidelines.
Qualifications:
-
Min 3 years of Cloud Engineering and/or DevOps experience.

Min 3 years of experience as a people manager with direct line management responsibility for engineering or technical teams.

Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including performance management, regular feedback, coaching, mentoring and career development.

Experience working with agile methodologies Scrum/Kanban

Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science/engineering (or equivalent).

Strong ability to lead and develop technical teams working on complex projects and platforms.

Demonstrated ability to manage team performance, capacity, priorities and professional development.

Experience creating a collaborative, accountable and high-performing engineering culture.

Ability to lead teams through change and support individuals through organisational and technical transformation.

Experience balancing the needs of individuals, the team and the wider business while maintaining delivery outcomes.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Ability to understand customer business objectives and translate them into outcomes.

Capable of creating high-level solution designs with input from key technical resources.

Strong understanding of technical trade-offs and risks.

Experience managing and prioritising a team backlog in Azure DevOps and ensuring appropriate Agile practices are followed.

Azure FinOps knowledge, including cost modelling, tracking and optimisation.
