Pharmacy OTC Assistant – Reign Pharmacy, Portlaoise
Reign Pharmacy, Dublin Road, Portlaoise, is looking for an experienced Pharmacy OTC Assistant to join our busy and expanding community pharmacy team.
We are particularly looking for someone with solid pharmacy experience who is confident in OTC sales and advice, enjoys working with customers, and can work effectively in a busy pharmacy environment.
Working Hours
- 36 hours per week
- Typically worked over 3 long days
- Shifts may include 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Flexible rota
- Weekend availability required, typically one or two weekend shifts as part of the rota
- All breaks are paid

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Advise customers on appropriate OTC medicines and healthcare products
- Recognise when a customer should be referred to the pharmacist
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Assist with stock management, merchandising and general front-of-shop duties
- Work efficiently and accurately in a busy pharmacy environment
- Work independently when required while contributing positively to the wider pharmacy team
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
Experience & Skills
- Previous community pharmacy OTC experience is essential
- Ideally 1 year or more experience as a Pharmacy OTC Assistant
- Strong knowledge of OTC medicines and pharmacy products
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Professional, reliable and organised
- Able to use initiative and prioritise workload
- Flexible regarding working days and weekend rota
