Bar Manager
Devoy’s Boutique Hotel, Johnstown, Co. Kildare
Devoy’s Boutique Hotel is now recruiting an experienced Bar Manager to join our opening team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and hands-on bar professional to lead the day-to-day running of our bar operations as part of a new boutique hotel opening in Johnstown, Co. Kildare.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in bar service, team supervision, stock control, cocktails, and guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience at supervisor level in a busy bar, hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in setting standards, training the bar team, supporting service, and helping to create a warm, professional, and memorable guest experience at Devoy’s.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the daily operation of the bar
Leading, training, and motivating the bar team
Ensuring high standards of drink service, presentation, cleanliness, and guest care
Supporting cocktail, wine, beer, and spirits service
Managing stock control, ordering, wastage, and GP targets
Supporting rota planning and labour control
Ensuring opening and closing procedures are followed correctly
Maintaining health, safety, hygiene, and licensing standards
Working closely with the senior management team
Supporting private events, restaurant service, and hotel operations where required
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience at supervisor level
Strong bar and floor experience
Good cocktail, wine, beer, and spirits knowledge
Experience with stock control and ordering
Strong leadership and communication skills
A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example
Confidence working in a busy, high-standard hospitality environment
Good attention to detail and pride in presentation
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy service periods
A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience
Salary
€38,000–€42,000 per year depending on experience
