We are looking for a proactive and commercially driven Internal Sales Specialist – Structural Sales to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with knowledge of structural products, steel, concrete, timber, roofing, or construction materials to play a key role in supporting customers and driving project sales.
Working closely with contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and our external sales team, you will provide expert product guidance, prepare quotations, and help secure structural product specifications and project opportunities from enquiry through to completion.
The Role
As an Internal Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, developing sales opportunities, and providing technical support across a range of structural building solutions. You will build strong relationships with customers while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Development

Manage incoming enquiries and convert opportunities into sales.
- Develop strong relationships with contractors, engineers, architects, developers, and key accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the structural sector.
- Prepare competitive quotations and follow up to maximise conversion rates.
- Support project sales from specification stage through to order fulfilment.
- Work collaboratively with external sales representatives to secure major project opportunities.
- Achieve individual sales, margin, and growth targets.
Technical Support

Provide expert advice on structural products and applications.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Recommend appropriate structural solutions to meet customer needs.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers on technical queries and project-specific requirements.
- Stay informed on industry standards, building regulations, and product innovations.
Project & Account Management

Track and manage project pipelines using CRM systems.
- Monitor project progress and maintain regular communication with customers.
- Ensure accurate pricing, product availability, and timely order processing.
- Support procurement and operations teams to deliver projects successfully.
Maintain detailed records of quotations, customer interactions, and project opportunities.

Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills

Previous experience in internal sales, technical sales, or specification sales within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of structural products, including one or more of the following:
- Structural steel systems
- Timber engineering products
- Roofing structures
- Structural fixings and connectors
- Reinforcement products
- Concrete-related systems
- Masonry support systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness with a strong focus on sales growth and profitability.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
Desirable

Experience working within builders' merchants, structural engineering suppliers, or construction product distribution.
- Knowledge of Eurocodes, Irish/UK building regulations, and structural compliance requirements.
