Overview:As a Cafe Barista/Kitchen Staff at Ballyhass Adventure Group, you’ll bring friendly, efficient service to a fast-paced environment. You’ll create high-quality coffee and specialty drinks, prepare light food options, and keep our cafe welcoming and organized. You will also be involved in the food prep for Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner with our kitchen team for our residential overnight groups.
With a focus on customer interaction, the barista role is ideal for those with barista experience and a passion for creating positive guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coffee and Drink Preparation: Craft high-quality coffees, espressos, lattes, and other specialty drinks with attention to detail and consistency.
- Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner prep and service for overnight residential groups.
- Customer Service: Provide a welcoming environment, answering guest inquiries and assisting with menu choices to create memorable visits.
- Food Preparation: Assist in preparing light food items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep cafe areas, counters, and equipment clean and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- Sales and Cash Handling: Process orders and handle payments accurately through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Team Collaboration: Work with other baristas and Ballyhass team members to ensure smooth operation during peak hours and provide support where needed.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements:
- Flexible Schedule: Availability for varied shifts, including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays.
- Clear Background Check: Willingness to undergo garda vetting for safety with vulnerable groups.
- Reliable Transportation: Access to reliable transportation if not residing in subsidized onsite accommodation.
- Health: Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the role, ensuring reliable, efficient service.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Barista Experience: Prior experience with coffee machines and espresso preparation is highly preferred but not essential.
- Customer Service: Friendly and approachable, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to Detail: Able to ensure consistent drink quality and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time well, especially during busy service periods.
- Basic Math Skills: Proficiency in handling cash and POS transactions.
