Job Purpose
The Deputy Social Care Manager is required to fulfil the running of the service in support of the Person In Charge, and to be in charge of the service requirements while the PIC is absent/on annual leave/sick leave. The Deputy Social Care Manager is expected to build and maintain high standards of social work practice within the service and ultimately the organisation as a whole.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Supervise social care staff, deputise for the Manager, lead the team in their absence, support staff through supervision, meetings, and workload management.

Ensure services meet HIQA, New Directions, and company standards; oversee audits, inspections, administration, and quality reporting.

Support service users through individualised plans, promote independence, integration, community involvement, and manage behaviours of concern with positive behaviour support.

Conduct and monitor health and safety checks, risk assessments, and safeguarding responsibilities; report and record accurately.

Organise and deliver staff training, set goals in supervision, support continuous learning, and ensure all mandatory training is completed.

Build rapport with service users, families, MDT, and staff; chair meetings, maintain confidentiality (GDPR), follow financial procedures, and act as a role model.
What You'll Need
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- A degree in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Youth and Community Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching or Nursing, sufficient experience with working and managing within the social care sector.

3 years' experience working in social care grade with children. Sufficient experience with adults with disabilities/children with disabilities/complex needs.
- A thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of social care.

An understanding of basic management principles.

A full Driver's licence.

Successful candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting through Tusla and the National Vetting Bureau
