Noreside Engineering Group, a leading provider of precision engineering and fabrication solutions in the South East, is seeking a experienced General Operative to join our dynamic team in Kilkenny.

Role Summary

Noreside Engineering Group is seeking a reliable and motivated General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will support our engineering and maintenance teams across a range of site and workshop-based tasks. This is a physical, hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a team, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist qualified engineers and maintenance fitters with day-to-day tasks on site and in the workshop.
Carry out general labouring duties including loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment.
Assist with the installation, removal, and relocation of machinery and equipment as directed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, site areas, and storage facilities.
Assist with the preparation of work areas prior to maintenance or installation activities.
Carry out basic maintenance tasks under supervision, including cleaning, greasing, and inspection of equipment.
Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles and management of stock and materials.
Follow all health and safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE at all times, and report hazards promptly.
Support the wider team with any general operational tasks as required by management.
Travel between sites as required by the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in a general operative, labouring, or similar hands-on role is desirable but not essential — full training will be provided.
Safe Pass certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in a workshop or site environment.
Full clean Irish licence required.
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in varying weather conditions may be required.
