Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor

River Fitness – Kilcock, Co. Kildare

About Us

River Fitness is a recently refurbished gym with a growing membership base and a strong focus on creating a welcoming, supportive community for our members. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, high-quality coaching and a positive environment where members of all fitness levels feel comfortable and supported.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and people-focused Personal Trainer / Fitness Instructor to join our team.

The Role

This role combines fitness instruction, member engagement and front desk responsibilities. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and understands that building relationships with members is just as important as delivering great classes.

Success in this role is measured not only by the quality of coaching provided, but by the ability to create a positive experience for members, contribute to gym culture and help members stay engaged with their fitness journey.

Key Responsibilities

Fitness Instructor

Deliver high-quality group fitness classes in a safe, engaging and motivating manner.
Plan and prepare classes that are suitable for a range of fitness levels and abilities.
Provide clear demonstrations, instructions and exercise modifications where appropriate.
Actively coach and correct participants throughout classes to ensure safety and proper technique.
Create a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages member participation and retention.
Maintain a clean, organised and professional training environment.
Continue developing coaching knowledge and skills through ongoing education.

Member Engagement & Customer Service

Build positive relationships with members and create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the gym.
Learn member names, engage in conversation and help members feel part of the River Fitness community.
Assist members with questions regarding training, memberships and gym services.
Support membership retention by providing an exceptional member experience.
Contribute positively to team culture and support fellow staff members.

Front Desk Duties

Greet members and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer phones, emails and member enquiries.
Assist with membership sign-ups, class bookings and administrative tasks.
Process payments and maintain accurate records where required.
Help maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the facility.

Requirements

Recognised Fitness Instructor qualification.
Previous experience working in a gym or fitness environment is preferred.
Personal liability insurance.
Strong understanding of exercise technique and safe coaching practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident coaching both individuals and groups.
Reliable, punctual and professional.
Passion for fitness and helping people achieve results.
CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
Available to work mornings or evenings.
Full driving licence or access to reliable transport.

Personal Training Opportunities

Employees may enter into a separate agreement with River Fitness to provide personal training services outside of their contracted gym hours. Trainers will have access to the gym facilities and are free to set their own rates above the minimum amount specified by the gym.

Kilcock, County Kildare: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
