About Coffeeangel

We are an independent specialty coffee business built on strong systems, consistent quality, and genuine hospitality. Our people are craftspeople and hosts, not just staff behind a counter.

Assistant Managers are aspiring leaders and passionate baristas who help run the shop day to day.

You will support your Area & Junior Area Managers and work closely with Operations Manager and Head of Coffee to keep standards high, your team motivated and customers genuinely delighted. You stay calm under pressure, juggle multiple priorities and use strong people skills to lead by example on every shift.

What you’ll do

Lead from the front on bar, modelling excellent coffee preparation and warm, efficient service.
Build real relationships with regulars and welcome new guests, handling any issues with sincerity and care.
Create a positive, well‑run shop: clean, organised, on time and focused on quality.
Train, coach and support your team so they feel confident, capable and engaged.
Build and manage rotas, control labour and waste, and help deliver healthy, profitable shops.
Oversee food and drink standards, HACCP, stock, ordering and daily cash/POS admin.
Ensure opening/closing, H&S and TRAIL checks are completed properly every day.

You understand numbers (P&L, labour, waste) and use them to improve performance.
You communicate clearly, give direction with confidence and follow up with support.
You take ownership of your shop, your team and your results – and you enjoy it.

What you’ll bring

Proven barista experience and strong coffee skills.
Supervisor or management experience in hospitality or retail.
Experience training and mentoring a team.
Great organisation and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Confidence with rotas, stock, cash handling and POS systems.
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Coffee qualifications (e.g. SCA) and food safety/H&S knowledge are a bonus.
