Job Title: Accommodation Manager

Location: The Dawson Hostel, Galway
Department: Hospitality/Operations
Reports To: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-time

The Dawson Hostel is a vibrant, welcoming hostel located in the heart of Galway. We are committed to providing our guests with a comfortable and memorable stay in one of Ireland's most dynamic cities. Our team is passionate about hospitality and creating an exceptional guest experience. We are currently seeking a skilled Accommodation Manager to oversee the daily operations of our accommodation services and lead a team of dedicated staff.

Position Overview:
The Accommodation Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hostel’s accommodation services. This includes managing guest rooms, supervising the housekeeping and maintenance teams, coordinating guest check-ins, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and comfort. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accommodation department.
Supervise, train, and lead a team of housekeeping, reception, and maintenance staff to ensure efficient and excellent service delivery.
Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or feedback, providing prompt solutions, and maintaining a positive environment.
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in all areas of the hostel, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Prepare and manage accommodation budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service standards.
Coordinate with other departments, including front desk, to provide seamless guest experiences.
Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
Stay current with trends in the hostel and hospitality industry, implementing improvements to enhance guest experiences.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 1 years of experience in accommodation management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, guests, and external partners.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage guest concerns efficiently.
Proficient in accommodation management software and basic office tools.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
