Senior Business Partner - Europe

Management Committee, Group Actuarial and Strategic Finance and other Business
Users.
Job Summary: Specialist insurance company Beazley is seeking a Senior Business Partner – Europe within its Finance function to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Reporting to the Head of Business Partnering – Financial Performance but with a dotted line to the Head of European Finance, this role will be primarily responsible for managing relationships with European senior management and helping to bring a European focus to internal analysis and projects. Although primarily focused on planning activity, the role covers review of actuals results and supporting reviews as required of any Europe / CBI submissions from within Finance. The role holder must be commercially aware and demonstrate the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Work with the Head of Business Partnering – Financial Performance and their leadership team to foster a culture that values employee experience, empowerment and wellbeing

Focus on customer service to provide best in class service, amplifying the team’s overall capability and proactively seeking insights from key stakeholders to anticipate changing dynamics
Work with the Financial Planning and Product Business Partnering teams to provide timely insight on European financial performance across all short term planning cycles, driving resolution of queries as required -
Collaborate with the Financial Planning team to ensure Medium Term Plan outputs are clearly
understood and help drive strategic direction of the organisation from both an underwriting and
expenses viewpoint -
Understand the drivers of the European expense base and allocated costs borne from central service functions and working with others in Financial Performance, be able to articulate the story to senior stakeholders and committees

Be a key SME in the European entities’ revenue streams from internal reinsurance arrangements with an ability to understand drivers of the financials from the other platforms at Beazley

Work with the Product Business Partners and European / BIDAC Finance teams as required to assist in responding to European specific queries across internal and external challenge

Attendance as required at quarterly peer or regulatory reviews for various submissions completed by Finance on European matters. This includes providing certain information in advance as required.

Review and enhance the current capability and offering from the business partnering team and with
the support of a modernised toolkit work towards future state -
Embed oneself within wider company activities and support various Finance projects and initiatives
with a European lens.
Personal Specification:
Education / Qualifications / Experience
Essential Criteria

Experienced qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Experience working in complex insurance organisations with exposure to regulatory or planning data

Understanding of GAAP reporting and consolidation accounting

Experience of Workday Financials and Workday Adaptive advantageous, but not essential
Capabilities
