Job Details

Social Care Leader (SCL Grade)

We are seeking applications from energetic, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team within our new residential services. Candidates should be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports that promote the rights, dignity, wellbeing and independence of the individuals we support.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new residential service, supporting individuals to live meaningful and self-directed lives while contributing to a positive, inclusive and collaborative team environment.

This is a full-time position. Contracts are with the service.

Role Function

The Social Care Leader reports to the Person In Charge (PIC) and supports the delivery of high-quality, person-centred and rights-based services for individuals supported by the service.

The role provides day-to-day leadership and support to staff teams, promotes professional practice, and supports the PIC in ensuring quality, compliance, safeguarding and positive outcomes for individuals. Working in partnership with individuals, families, colleagues and external professionals, the Social Care Leader contributes to the effective operation, continuous improvement and regulatory compliance of the service.

General Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

Hold a CORU-approved Degree in Social Care (NFQ Level 8) or an equivalent qualification recognised by CORU (validated by QQI where applicable)

Be registered with CORU as a Social Care Worker, or be in the process of obtaining CORU registration

Must have a minimum of six months post qualification experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities.

A qualification in Leadership, Supervision or Management is desirable.

Must hold a full clean driving licence and be willing to drive company vehicles.

Hold valid work authorisation for Ireland.

Be proficient in both oral and written English language.

Skills & Attributes

Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Proficient in record keeping and report writing.

Ability to support the implementation of policies, procedures and quality standards.

Knowledge of person-centred and rights-based practice.

Knowledge of safeguarding principles and procedures.

Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support principles.

Knowledge of New Directions and contemporary disability service practice.

Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and standards applicable to disability services.

Ability to support, guide and motivate staff.

Flexible approach to service provision.

Excellent standard of English, both written and oral.

Computer literate.
