As part of the next phase of organisational development, Moy Valley Resources is seeking to recruit a strong operational leader to support organisational restructuring, operational excellence, programme development, and long-term sustainability.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a commercially aware, organised, and people-focused General Manager – Operations & Development to lead the day-to-day operational management of the organisation and support the continued development of its programmes and services.
This is a hands-on operational leadership role focused on:
- Operational excellence,
- Financial and organisational sustainability,
- Systems and process improvement,
- Programme support and development,
- Governance and reporting structures,
- And implementation of organisational improvement initiatives.
The role would suit someone with strong private sector operational and financial experience who is looking for a meaningful leadership role with flexibility and work-life balance while still making a significant impact within an organisation and community setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Operational Management
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organisation
- Supporting programme managers and operational teams
- Driving operational efficiencies and accountability
- Improving organisational systems and structures
Finance & Administration Oversight
- Oversight of finance and accounts functions
- Supporting budgeting, reporting, and operational financial management
- Oversight of payroll, administration, and operational controls
- Supporting improved financial sustainability
Property & Asset Management
- Oversight of enterprise and property assets
- Supporting tenant management and lease administration
- Supporting income optimisation and property management structures
Quality, Systems & Governance
- Supporting implementation of ISO 9001 / Quality Management Systems
- Improving reporting, governance, and operational processes
- Supporting ICT and document management improvements
- Preparing operational reports for the Board
Organisational Development
- Supporting continuous improvement across all areas
- Supporting programme growth and sustainability
- Helping create the platform for future organisational expansion and development
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong operational management experience
- Financial experience and commercial awareness
- Experience managing people, systems, and operational processes
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to drive accountability and operational improvement
- Experience supporting organisational change and development
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to work collaboratively with management teams and Boards
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Operations management
- Finance / accounts oversight
- Property or facilities management
- Quality management systems
- HR and operational administration
- Community development, enterprise development, or not-for-profit organisations
- Organisational restructuring or transformation projects
