The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity to join a growing tax team at an incredibly exciting part of its growth journey. Due to continued growth and ambitious plans for further expansion in Ireland, RSM Ireland is recruiting a Director / Senior Manager to join our VAT team. The role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge, skills, and development in a creative, entrepreneurial, and supportive team, working with lots of fantastic clients along the way.
The role will entail working as part of a multidisciplinary team to serve a range of international and domestic clients across a diverse range of sectors. A key part of the role will be to work with existing indirect tax senior management in developing the firm’s indirect tax service offering.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring the provision of technically sound, clear and commercially focussed advice on indirect tax matters.
Managing a portfolio of indirect tax clients and overseeing a compliance portfolio.
Working with senior management to develop and grow the firm’s indirect tax service offering.
Contributing to the operational management of the tax business and taking responsibility for specific areas as required.
Coordinating and collaborating with other RSM member firms on cross-border projects and business development initiatives.
Contributing to the development of technical knowledge and training of staff on indirect taxes.

About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Experience in a management role in practice.
Comprehensive VAT technical knowledge and experience.
Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
A proven track record in business development and converting relationships into fee paying work.
Self-motivated and capable of leading a team.
Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and leaderships skills.
