The Painter and Decorator will carry out professional painting and decorating duties for residential projects, both interior and exterior. The role requires high attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers.
- Decorate interior and exterior walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metalwork.- Read and follow project specifications, drawings, and color schemes.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials safely.
- Comply with health and safety regulations, including the use of ladders, scaffolds, and PPE.- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards. Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a painter and decorator in residential or commercial construction.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certificates (e.g., QQI Level 5/6 in Painting & Decorating, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent).
- Health and safety training (e.g., Working at Heights, manual handling, PPE usage).
- Proficiency in using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other painting tools.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes
