OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for all the marketing activity carried out by SIG’s Distribution business in Ireland with the overall objective of driving sustainable revenue growth in the medium to long-term. This will be achieved by developing both our overall brand awareness and a detailed understanding in target customer markets of the products and services that SIG has to offer. The role also includes full P&L responsibility for SIG Distribution’s web shop.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership and Vision – Work with the Commercial Team to ensure that SIG has an effective marketing strategy that supports continued growth in revenue across all our product categories and sales channels.
- Execution – Manage and implement our annual marketing plans for the different product categories and branches, including traditional marketing activities, digital marketing activities and brand awareness activities and events. The objective of all our marketing activities should be to drive revenue growth in the business.
- Customers –Develop our understanding of our customers’ experiences, needs and wants using data analytics, customer surveys and other tools. Use this information to help us to devise and refine our marketing activities to make them more effective.
- Budget Management – Manage the annual marketing spending within budget. Priority should be given to activities where output can be measured where possible and that give the highest return on investment.
- Web Shop – Work with your internal colleagues and our external partners to develop our web shop revenue and profitability in line with the targets set out in our Medium-Term Plan. This includes devising and agreeing plans on how we drive traffic to our site, manage the customer experience when they arrive, and driving long-term loyalty so that customers continue to return. The role includes full P&L responsibility for the performance of SIG Distribution’s web shop, including quarterly business reviews with the Managing Director and Finance Director.
- Website – Work with your internal colleagues and our external partners to maintain our local corporate website to ensure that we provide relevant and up to date information to visitors on who we are and what we do. We should also use the website to maintain our brand awareness in the construction sector and the wider business community in Ireland.
- Group – Work with the other operating companies in the wider SIG Group when required on certain activities and initiatives.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Education - Marketing / Digital Marketing degree.
- Knowledge / Experience:
o Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
o Excellent IT Skills including Word / Excel / PowerPoint, WordPress.
o Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (for graphic design and website management).
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Experience in SEO is a key requirement.
o Experience with Google Analytics, AdWords experience is essential.
- This is a one-person department, so the ideal candidate must be happy to look after activities and projects from start to finish and work with people at all levels in the organisation.
- A strong communicator and someone who likes to work collaboratively as part of a wider team that is focused on succeeding in a competitive industry.
- Knowledge of the Irish Construction sector is not required but would be beneficial.
- Full Clean Driving License.
