We have an excellent opportunity for a Portfolio Operations Manager to join our growing Operations Department at Mediolanum. The role holder will join as a hands-on Portfolio Operations Manager within the Operations Team.
The team are responsible for IBOR validation, controlling the integration of external transaction data and Instrument static data maintenance, workings closely with Mediolanum’s Service Providers and multiple internal Teams, particularly our Investment Department.
The team’s primary objective is to ensure the accuracy of the Investment Portfolio data, new security setup across all asset classes, the handling and the resolution of cash, trade, position and valuation reconciliation breaks of the IBOR against custody, fund accounting and clearing broker records. The activities of the team require extensive knowledge and experience of different security types, including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, OTCs, and ETDs from security setup to trade booking.
In particular the role requires a strong understanding of OTC derivatives trade capture, pricing, analytics, and lifecycle workflows. The work is varied, combining BAU tasks, change management and project work.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the team and will be expected to lead from the front, be hands on in BAU processes and integrate team members into the wider remit of Operations.
Responsible for the ongoing assessment and development of the team members, including training, the monthly 30/30 process and end of year performance reviews.
Responsible for the preparations and resolution of daily cash, position and market value reconciliations including trade capture and pricing.
Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the securities database in the OMS and the process of defining instruments, markets, currencies, tax tables and other associated market referential data.
Resolve complex process problems and serve as a subject matter expert in securities processing procedures and industry standards.
Responsible for the setting up of new funds, portfolios, delegates and the maintenance and addition of the portfolio structure.
Develop and implement advanced solutions, contributing to the continuous improvement and streamlining of processing activities.
The successful candidate will be involved in the review and implementation of changes to data flows, and system changes.

Qualifications & Experience
The candidate will have between 7-10 years’ relevant experience combined with a background in team supervision.
Extensive front to back understanding of Fund / Asset Management processes.
Strong knowledge of and experience dealing with the following asset types- Funds (ETF’s, External and FoF), Equities, Deposits, Bonds, FX, Credit, Swaps, Exchange Traded and OTC Derivative.
Good understanding of Fund Accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge of all relevant industry regulations.
Some experience of defining IT business requirements, reviewing solution proposals and User Acceptance Testing test plans.
Familiarity with back-end technologies (Java, Python, SQL) is a plus.
Appropriate 3rd Level Qualification.
