The Opportunity
The Assurance Analyst will support the delivery of EirGrid’s second line assurance workstream, contributing to independent oversight of governance, risk, and compliance arrangements. This role plays an important part in ensuring that the organisation operates with integrity and transparency by assisting in the evaluation of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.
The role holder will help plan and execute assurance activities, analyse data, prepare reports, and provide insights that inform senior leadership and governance bodies. Working closely with senior team members, and other assurance providers, the Assurance Analyst will contribute to embedding a strong assurance culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Assurance Delivery
- Assist in planning and executing assurance reviews, compliance assessments, and control evaluations.
- Gather and analyse data to support assurance activities and identify trends or areas for improvement.
- Prepare draft reports and presentations summarising findings and recommendations for review by senior team members.
Framework Support
- Support the maintenance of the assurance framework, methodologies, and tools.
- Help track and monitor remediation actions arising from assurance reviews.
- Contribute to the development of templates, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work with risk management and compliance teams to ensure alignment of assurance activities with enterprise risk priorities.
- Provide administrative and analytical support for governance committees and assurance-related meetings.
- Assist in coordinating combined assurance activities with Internal Audit and other assurance providers.
Continuous Improvement
- Support initiatives to enhance assurance processes through automation and data analytics.
- Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes, summarising implications for assurance practices.
- Contribute ideas for improving efficiency and effectiveness of assurance activities..
About You-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in assurance, internal audit, risk management, or governance roles.
- Qualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to prepare clear reports.
- Understanding of assurance and related methodologies and standards.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure of deadlines.
- Experience in regulated environments or the energy sector is advantageous but not essential.
