This role will be transitioning to our Backend Day Shift in Q4 2026. This will consist of 12-hour day shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

Shift Premium : 15% premium only for Sat/Sun, no shift premium for Thurs/Fri

Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor , the Controls Technician 2 will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in:

You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.

You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment

Y ou will have experience with pneumatics, electromechanical systems, PLCs , and robotic systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

You will operate , test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.

You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation

You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.

You will carry out activities in equipment development under the supervi sion of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.

Y ou will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program.

You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.

Y ou will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.

You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.

What makes you successful:

Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications

Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers

Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Electro/Mechanical systems and Packaging equipment highly desirable.

Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime

Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills

Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes

Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation
