The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Cleaning Site Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day cleaning operation on site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, managing and developing the cleaning team, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring all operational, compliance, and Health & Safety requirements are consistently achieved.
This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team to deliver an outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day cleaning operation and ensure services are delivered in line with company standards and client requirements.
Conduct daily site inspections to monitor standards, identify cleaning requirements, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Complete weekly quality audits and maintain audit records, action plans, and service improvement trackers.
Ensure all cleaning schedules, daily logs, compliance records, and operational documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Prepare and manage weekly staff rosters, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
Monitor employee attendance, timesheets, annual leave requests, and absence records in accordance with company policies.
Produce and submit weekly operational reports detailing site performance, audit results, staffing updates, and outstanding actions.
Attend weekly meetings with clients, Area Management, and operational teams as required.
Act as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring service expectations are met.
Monitor service delivery and respond promptly to client requests, complaints, and operational issues.
Carry out monthly stock counts and maintain effective control of cleaning consumables, materials, and equipment.
Place monthly orders for cleaning supplies and ensure stock levels remain within operational requirements and budget.
Induct, train, coach, and support new employees to company standards and procedures.
Identify development opportunities and provide refresher training for existing team members.
Maintain accurate training records and ensure mandatory training requirements are completed.
Support employee performance management and development in line with company procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies, employment procedures, statutory requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.
Monitor staffing arrangements and working hours in accordance with operational requirements and Working Time legislation.
Promote a positive, professional, and customer-focused culture within the team.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
About You
Previous experience in a Site Manager, Cleaning Manager, or Cleaning Supervisor role.
Proven experience managing cleaning operations within a commercial, corporate, educational, healthcare, or public sector environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and develop a team.
Experience conducting quality inspections, audits, and service reviews.
Experience managing staff rosters, attendance records, holidays, and timesheets.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Experience preparing reports and communicating with clients and senior management.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Experience managing stock control and ordering processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
