The team and the opportunity
Our Finance Transformation team delivers globally integrated Finance service offerings to our clients. We help CFO organisations build Finance functions that are business-focused, cost-effective and agile in meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
A priority growth area for us is Data & AI solutions—helping clients use data, analytics, automation and AI to improve insight, decision-making, performance and cost-to-serve across the Finance function. This includes reimagining how Finance operates across reporting and analytics, planning and forecasting, performance management, close, controls, data governance, and value realisation.
We are looking for a Senior Manager who can combine strong finance transformation experience with modern data and AI capability, bringing a practical, value-led approach to client problems. You will help clients define the art of the possible, assess readiness, prioritise opportunities and deliver outcomes through technology-enabled process redesign, operating model optimisation and responsible AI adoption.
You will play a key role in supporting the development and strengthen existing client relationships and help our clients, who are leaders in the Financial Services industry, navigate the complex finance issues facing their business. Your key responsibilities
- Build senior relationships within client organisations, working with them to understand their most critical business problems, strategic priorities and transformation ambitions.
- Lead Data & AI and process optimisation engagements from opportunity shaping and solution design through to delivery, value tracking and adoption.
- Work with EY teams across Finance, Data, AI, Digital, Risk and sector teams to evaluate, design and implement end-to-end solutions that improve Finance performance and decision-making.
- Lead accelerated discovery and current-state assessments across Finance data, technology, process and people to identify high-value transformation opportunities.
- Assess AI readiness, data foundations and architecture to define scalable, practical and responsible paths to AI adoption in Finance.
- Design target operating models, governance and ways of working that improve accountability, enable hub-and-spoke models where relevant, and support future growth.
- Drive process optimisation and digital process re-engineering across core Finance processes using design-led thinking, Lean principles, automation, analytics and AI.
- Translate strategy into pragmatic roadmaps, investment cases and value-realisation plans centred on Data & AI outcomes.
- Lead and develop high-performing, diverse teams aligned to EY’s values, delivering exceptional client service and coaching team members for growth.
- Contribute to business development through thought leadership, opportunity origination, proposal development, commercial shaping and external market engagement.
Skills and attributes for Success
- 8–10 years’ relevant experience in Finance transformation, performance improvement, enterprise analytics, Data & AI, or closely related consulting and industry roles.
- A strong track record delivering large-scale Finance transformation, process optimisation, analytics or AI-enabled programmes.
- Experience implementing AI in finance processes within organisations from design through to implementation and roll-out.
- Experience in business development and solution design for complex, multi-national businesses.
- Demonstrable experience building senior client relationships and originating, shaping and leading major engagements.
- Strong understanding of Finance processes, Finance operating models and how data, analytics and AI can be applied to improve performance.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing delivery across strategy, design and implementation phases.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in management consulting or delivery of multiple Finance Data & AI / Finance transformation programmes in industry.
- Strong technical problem-solving capability and the ability to translate business problems into data, process and technology solutions.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, visual outputs and executive-ready insights.
- Excellent facilitation, workshop design and presentation skills.
- Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with leading AI platforms such as SAP Joule, Microsoft Copilot (Fabric/Azure), Oracle AI, and other workflow and automation solutions is highly desirable.

- Creating a Finance Data, AI and Automation hub to improve interconnected decision-making across reporting, planning, controls and compliance.
- Connecting Finance and non-Finance data through enterprise analytics solutions with common KPIs, interoperable data and natural-language insight experiences.
- Applying AI across Finance processes such as close, reconciliations, forecasting, variance analysis, procure-to-pay and order-to-cash to reduce manual effort and improve quality, speed and insight.
