Role Overview:
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is seeking a ServiceNow Platform Developer with strong UI/UX experience to elevate the end-to-end user experience across our ServiceNow-based portals and workspaces. In this role, you will design and deliver intuitive, accessible, and scalable digital experiences that empower employees across the SIE ecosystem.
This is a high-impact position at the intersection of design and engineering, where you'll help shape modern, user-focused experiences on the ServiceNow platform. You'll work with tools like UI Builder to customize and extend out-of-the-box capabilities, while also creating new workspaces and portals from the ground up.
What You'll Be Doing:
User Experience Strategy & Design
- Lead UX design strategy, ensuring alignment with SIE experience principles, brand guidelines, and accessibility standards on the ServiceNow platform.
- Translate business requirements and user needs into user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and user experiences.
- Conduct usability assessments, user feedback reviews, and journey analysis to identify friction points and drive continuous experience improvement.
- Define and maintain reusable UX patterns and standards across ServiceNow HR and employee-facing experiences.
ServiceNow UI Development & Implementation
- Design and build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using ServiceNow UI Builder, Service Portal, Employee Center, and/or other approaches.
- Develop and customize UI components, widgets, layouts, and themes using HTML, CSS, Glide Api JavaScript, and ServiceNow APIs.
- Optimize UI performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Manage and maintain the user interface layer of ServiceNow applications.
Platform Delivery & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner closely with ServiceNow developers, architects, and product owners to ensure UI designs integrate seamlessly with workflows, data models, and platform capabilities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint planning to ensure UX work is properly scoped and delivered.
- Support ServiceNow upgrades and platform changes, proactively identifying and mitigating UI/UX impacts.
- Troubleshoot UI defects and usability issues, delivering scalable and supportable solutions.
What We're Looking For:
- 3–5+ years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development, with 2–3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow UI experience.
- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow UI Builder, Service Portal, and/or Employee Center frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Solid understanding of user-centric design methodologies, usability testing, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Ability to balance design quality with platform constraints, timelines, and delivery priorities.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale portals or digital experiences, ideally in HR, recruiting, or employee-facing domains.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UI design and visualization tools (e.g., Figma, Miro).
Ability to balance design quality with platform constraints, timelines, and delivery priorities.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
