Role overview
Kick-start your career in software quality at DOCOsoft, a Dublin-based InsurTech company whose claims management platform processes billions in data for some of the world's largest insurers. As a Graduate QA Engineer, you will learn to break complex systems before customers ever see them, build automation from day one, and grow into a well-rounded engineer with exposure across the full software development lifecycle.
You will join a collaborative QA team that plays a critical role in every release. Working alongside developers, business analysts, and DevOps engineers, you will analyse requirements, design and execute tests, develop automation, and champion quality across the organisation. At DOCOsoft, no two days look the same and we actively encourage our people to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, and explore different areas of the business.
About DOCOsoft
DOCOsoft is the leading provider of claims management software to the London insurance market. Our platform is trusted by over 20 of the world's top-tier insurers, handling more than £10 billion in claims annually. Founded in Dublin in 2008, we now employ over 100 people across a range of disciplines and are in an exciting growth phase - launching our new SaaS platform, DOCOsoft Vew, and expanding into international markets.
Our culture is built on five core values: Collaborative, Committed, Trusted, Creative, and Grounded. We combine Irish hard work and community spirit with a philosophy of continuous improvement, and we invest in our people so they can do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Test and validate our platform to ensure it meets the highest quality standards before every customer release.
- Design, write, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright.
- Analyse requirements and user stories to create detailed, traceable test cases.
- Investigate, reproduce, and clearly document defects so development teams can resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps engineers across multiple project teams.
- Propose and pilot improvements to our testing processes, tools, and overall quality strategy.
- Contribute to API and database-level testing to ensure data integrity across our integrations.
- Manage your time effectively across concurrent projects, communicating progress and risks proactively.
What You'll Learn in Your First Year:
We are investing in your growth from day one. In your first twelve months, you can expect to:
- Gain hands-on experience building Playwright automation suites on real client projects.
- Develop a strong understanding of the insurance domain — how complex claims data is received, processed, and presented to end users.
- Learn how CI/CD pipelines work and how quality gates protect production environments.
- Pair with senior QA engineers and developers through a structured mentorship programme.
- Carry out Non-Functional testing activities (performance testing and security testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Present your findings and testing insights to cross-functional teams.
- Explore other areas of the business — we encourage involvement in DevOps, product, and innovation initiatives.
Key Requirements:
We value curiosity, initiative, and a genuine passion for quality over a long list of credentials. If you recognise yourself in the following, we would love to hear from you:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience such as a coding bootcamp or strong personal projects).
- 0–2 years of relevant experience — internships, college projects, and personal work all count.
- A natural curiosity and a knack for spotting what others miss.
- Comfort reading and writing code — you do not need to be an expert, but you are not afraid of a codebase.
- Strong communication skills — you can clearly explain what is broken and why it matters.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to both give and receive constructive feedback.
We realise applying for jobs can feel daunting. Even if you do not tick every box above, we encourage you to apply - the best candidate does not always check every single requirement.
