At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager:NASAH to join our Dublin office.
The Senior Project Manager:NASAH will serve as the Contracting Entity’s representative, with overall responsibility for managing a portfolio of capital projects and noise insulation programmes from initial planning and design through to successful completion and handover. The role is accountable for ensuring projects and programmes are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the required specifications, regulatory obligations, and stakeholder commitments.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of infrastructure, building, and environmental improvement initiatives, including residential and community noise insulation schemes associated with airport operations. The role will ensure that all project and programme objectives are achieved in line with the Contracting Entity’s employer requirements, environmental commitments, and wider corporate strategic objectives.
The Senior Project Manager:NASAH will be required to attend site four days per week and one day per week will be remote working.
Here’s what you’ll do
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Programme Requirements, Standards & Performance

Oversee and monitor project delivery across all key areas including schedule, interfaces, cost, variations, contracts, and risk, coordinating with relevant team members and functional stakeholders as required.

Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, ensuring the project is aligned with and delivered in accordance with the Contracting Entity’s standards, governance, and delivery methodologies.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Airport Transformation Manager, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Management
-
Lead and manage a team of Project Managers, each responsible for the successful delivery of one or more projects within the programme portfolio.

Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Project Managers, ensuring appropriate project management methodologies, controls, and performance measures are implemented to achieve delivery against cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.

Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed resource plans to support the effective delivery of projects under the Senior Project Manager’s responsibility.

Provide technical, commercial, and contractual guidance to Project Managers in the execution of their day-to-day responsibilities.

Be accountable for the preparation and presentation of performance reports across all projects within the assigned portfolio.

Collaborate closely with the Programme Director to identify, escalate, and resolve issues arising during project delivery.
Project Management Activities
-
Lead the overall coordination of projects, ensuring all interfaces are identified, managed, and addressed throughout each stage of the project lifecycle.

Maintain and manage the Responsible / Accountable / Consulted / Informed (RACI) task tracker to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
-
Coordinate with technical teams in the management of design consultants and other external service providers to ensure delivery requirements are achieved.

Organise and chair design review meetings, and communicate formal design acceptance to the Contractor as appropriate.

Ensure all relevant project team members and stakeholders are informed of design changes and potential impacts on project delivery.

Prepare and issue monthly reports detailing project activities and progress throughout the lifecycle, including construction activities during the delivery phase.

Maintain and regularly update the overall project risk register, ensuring risks are reviewed and discussed at monthly progress meetings.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in project management procedures, templates, and delivery practices, escalating recommendations to the appropriate line manager.

Monitor project performance and apply appropriate performance management techniques to support successful project outcomes.

Manage the project change control process, ensuring all changes are properly assessed, approved, documented, and communicated.

Manage the flow of project information between the project team and the client through regular meetings, reporting, and formal written communications.
NEC Specific Activities
-
Review, assess, and formally accept programme submissions in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
-
Lead project delivery activities in the spirit of mutual trust and co-operation, fostering collaborative working relationships across all parties.
-
Issue communications and contractual documentation as required under the Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC), and perform all additional duties and obligations defined within the contract.

Carry out the duties as the Project Manager as required by the Contracting Entity’s contract for the Programme, maintaining close contact with the Client in order to ensure the Project Manager’s actions reflect the Contracting Entity’s objectives for the project

Manage the compensation event process so that the Contractor is fairly compensated for any Contracting Entity- initiated change on the project
-
Ensure the Contractor notifies compensation events in good time so that the Contracting Entity is not disadvantaged
Qualifications

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in our primary infrastructure markets, including aviation.
As the successful candidate, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:

Minimum of 15 years’ experience within the construction and infrastructure sector, including involvement in aviation and/or other comparable projects of similar scale and complexity.

Strong understanding of working within a live airport operational environment, with due consideration for operational, safety, and stakeholder requirements.
-
Demonstrated site-based project delivery experience, with a practical understanding of on-site construction management activities in addition to office-based responsibilities.
-
Proven experience in developing and documenting construction project management best practices, policies, procedures, and delivery standards.
-
Established track record of successfully delivering construction and asset delivery projects on schedule and within approved budget parameters.
-
Experience acting in the role of a client-side Project Manager, managing delivery on behalf of the contracting or asset-owning organisation.
-
Strong stakeholder management capability, with experience engaging and influencing stakeholders at all organisational levels to support process improvement and effective project delivery.
-
Managing a significant multidisciplinary team across multiple concurrent projects
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure project outputs that meet required standards
-
Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC suite of contracts
