About the Role
As Lead Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and engineering oversight across the electrical scope of major construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that designs, installations, and commissioning activities are delivered in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and best practice.
Working closely with project management, consultants, subcontractors, and client stakeholders, you will drive engineering excellence while supporting and mentoring project engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities

Lead the electrical engineering function across assigned projects.

Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to Electrical Project Engineers and site teams.

Review and coordinate electrical design documentation, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions.

Lead design reviews and ensure alignment between design intent and site execution.

Identify and resolve technical challenges, design conflicts, and constructability issues.

Oversee RFIs, technical queries, engineering trackers, and design change management processes.

Evaluate equipment selections and supplier technical submissions.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Support project planning, procurement, commissioning, and handover activities.

Conduct technical audits, quality reviews, and system inspections throughout project delivery.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant standards, and company procedures.

Support Project Managers with engineering risk management and technical decision-making.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
-
Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 8-10 years' experience delivering electrical engineering packages within construction or building services environments.

Proven experience leading electrical engineering activities on large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare or advanced technology projects.

Strong technical knowledge of power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and electrical building services infrastructure.

Experience managing design coordination, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.

Electrical trade background would be advantageous.

Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience with Revit, BIM coordination, and digital engineering platforms would be advantageous.
