Job Description
Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business across Europe, we are currently recruiting for an experienced MEP Construction Project Manager to join our Data Centre team.
In this role, you will oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a data hall fit out for a global technology client onsite.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the MEP pre-construction activities, including constructability in design, procurement and contracts, project planning, budget planning is delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

Lead and manage the construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Oversee MEP system installations
-
Ensure that the MEP designs are aligned with the overall design intent and client expectations, managing any issues that arise during construction.
Pre-Construction Phase Oversight:
-
Oversee and assist the design team in constructability and localization in the design focusing mainly on the MEP systems but assist and collaboration with other disciplines.

Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety protocols are adhered to.

Provide technical guidance on MEP system installations, ensuring that contract documents and specifications are relevant to the region.

Play a pivotal role in the procurement of contractors and vendor.
Construction Phase Oversight:
-
Daily coordination with contractors & operations teams on site
-
Perform detailed site walkdowns (focus on critical systems installation)
-
Review method statements and permits to work (PTW) for high-risk activities - coordinate with H&S team(s)

Monitor installation of critical path equipment (UPS, generators, swgr etc)
-
Track commissioning readiness - liaise with CxA & CxM
-
Manage RFIs and technical submittals - coordination with contractor and client project team
-
Coordinate switching, shutdowns, energisation plans, and temporary power arrangements - coordination with contractor and client project team
-
Uphold safety protocols (live environments, HV works, lifting operations, PPE, etc)

Maintain and update weekly and monthly progress reports

Coordinate progress monitoring and support monthly valuations - liaise with commercial & controls teams
-
Coordinate progress monitoring and support weekly schedule update - liaise with scheduler & controls teams

Support last planner activities with contractor
Qualifications
-
Degree in Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related field
-
Strong knowledge of MEP construction and building systems Technical understanding of Data Centre Infrastructure – HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire, Security and BMS
-
Professional/tertiary qualification in project management, engineering or construction
-
A minimum of 5 - 10 years project management experience, gained within a Data Centre or similar technical environment

A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from project inception stage, design, authority approvals through to construction completion and post-project review

Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques

Ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment
-
Excellent command of written and spoken English
-
Highly motivated and driven with a passion for delivering to your client

Availability for on-site work
