Role Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer / Solution Designer (Premium Audit Platform & AI)
BU/Segment : Insurance
Location: Dublin, Republic of Ireland (Flexible hybrid working)
Employment Type: Permanent

Responsibilities: Summary of the role:

This engineer will act as technical leaders within the squad. They partner with the Product Owner, BA team, and Technical Architect to translate business objectives into robust architectural designs and high-quality solutions. They are expected to operate with significant autonomy, provide clarity when requirements are ambiguous, and ensure the team delivers scalable, secure, and maintainable features across the EXL Premium Audit platform.

They also serve as the primary engineering mentor within the pod, guiding Band A/B developers and ensuring strong engineering practices.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

Solution Design & Architecture

Convert business goals and high-level requirements into clear, actionable application architecture.
Design holistic solutions including backend services, frontend flows, integrations, data models, and security considerations.
Produce high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) architecture documents that reflect scalable, maintainable future-state patterns.
Ensure designs are aligned with the existing global architecture and work closely with the Technical Architect to maintain consistency.
AI Integration Leadership
Understand the capabilities and limitations of AI systems and propose how LLM-based features (document validation, summarization, anomaly detection, etc.) can best be incorporated.
Design stable APIs and workflows to integrate AI services in a secure and predictable way.

Technical Ownership & Delivery

Provide high-level effort estimates and technical input to the Product Owner for planning and roadmap decisions.
Lead end-to-end implementation of complex features using .NET, Entity Framework, Python, and modern frontend frameworks (Angular).
Serve as the primary technical reviewer for the pod, ensuring code quality, security practices, and performance standards.
Collaborate closely with QA Automation and Performance engineers to ensure architectural decisions support testability and performance requirements.
Platform Expertise & Problem Solving
Maintain a detailed understanding of database structures, network interactions, microservices (where applicable), and application hosting environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within SLA, including root cause analysis and preventative engineering improvements.
Support customization or integration of third-party platforms (e.g., Nexus, carrier systems, AI services).

Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, elevating the engineering culture within the Ireland pod.
Work effectively across global teams (US, India, Ireland), translating between business context and technical implementation.
Proactively identify technical risks, design gaps, or opportunities to simplify the user experience for auditors and carriers.

Qualifications: Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

Typically 7–12 years of engineering experience, with at least several years designing or leading complex enterprise applications.
Deep hands-on experience with .NET / Entity Framework, Python, and Angular. Experience with form.io or other form
Strong architectural grounding: API design, data modeling, system integrations, security fundamentals, and performance optimization.
Prior experience integrating AI/ML/LLM services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, etc.).
Experience with form.io or similar schema-driven dynamic form frameworks (JSON-based forms, conditional logic, reuseable components) is a strong plus.
