Full job description

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software engineering.
5 years of experience managing software engineering teams.
Experience with systems design and distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience architecting and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
Experience with debugging distributed software systems.
Experience with networking technologies/concepts such as software defined networking (SDN).
Proficiency in data structures, algorithms and complexity analysis.
Understanding of internet routing technologies and router/switch telemetry.

Responsibilities

Manage a high-performing team of software engineers.
Provide technical guidance to the team as they design, develop, integrate and test the features for B4 availability, scaling, NPIs.
Prioritize work and ensure that incremental progress is made even if the problems at hand are difficult to solve in a short period of time.
Help team members and partner teams understand the broader context, and solve the right problems at the right time.
Be comfortable with changes in the execution plan if they are enabling the right impact for Google.
