At Deloitte, our Artificial Intelligence & Data Team is at the forefront of harnessing data to drive transformative business outcomes. As a Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and diverse clients, delivering scalable data solutions that underpin AI and analytics initiatives.
This role offers a stimulating environment where you can develop your technical expertise, lead project workstreams, and contribute to innovative data architectures while collaborating across multiple business functions.
Key skills and prior experience
- A minimum of a third-level degree in Maths, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline

Proven commercial experience in data management roles, including stakeholder engagement and project delivery

Strong expertise in data modelling, integration, and ETL pipeline development using distributed computing tools such as Hadoop or Spark

Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as R, Python, Scala, NiFi, Spark, and cloud platforms like Azure Analytics, Databricks, or AWS Glue

Experience with SQL, relational databases, and real-time streaming analytics is highly advantageous

Ability to communicate complex analytical insights clearly, supported by experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau

Leading project workstreams and supporting client engagements across various industries and specialisms

Designing, developing, and implementing robust data architectures and scalable data pipelines for storage and processing

Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security are maintained throughout data workflows

Optimising data processes for performance and efficiency in large-scale environments

Integrating diverse data sources and formats into cohesive, scalable ETL solutions

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into effective data-driven solutions

Staying current with emerging data engineering tools and technologies to continuously enhance delivery capabilities
