Sam Dennigan & co., one of Irelands largest fresh produce provider has an excellent opportunity for a Fresh Produce Procurement and Stock Controller. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing fresh produce from Ireland and overseas, driving fresh produce sales across the company customer base. The role will include establishing solid supplier and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for stock management of fruit & vegetable products, short, medium and long term in a busy and fast paced environment.
- Liaise with suppliers to source fresh produce for resale from Ireland and overseas

Accountable for the profitability and stock management of product lines.
- Balance Stock and report on rolling stock.

Daily communication with the Quality team and Operations team to ensure maximum efficiency.

Daily check on quality, quantity, reasons for rejection, shelf-life and waste.

Responsible for forecasting and handling product complaints.

Customer relationship building - including communication with independent customers.
- Commercial awareness in all that is done.

Sourcing procedure based on quality and set product specifications.

Logistical operations in getting product to warehouse in a timely fashion.

Planning and organising transport.
- Assisting the Senior Management team with establishing new products for existing range and expanding the customer base.
Skills & Qualifications required:
-
Experience working within the fresh produce industry is an advantage
-
Previous responsibility for stock procurement in fresh food/retail background essential

Ability to build relationships and deal with customers and suppliers in a courteous and professional manner

Understanding of manufacturing processes and packing, import and export would be beneficial

Strong organizational skills and effective contract negotiation skills

Well organised with the ability to react to change quickly

Ability to anticipate and circumvent potential problems

Fluency in English
