Project Officer (Contracts Department)

Permanent Contract, 39 hours
Job Purpose
The Project Officer will be a valuable resource within the Contracts Team and wider Strategic Planning, Performance & Business Development Department providing a projects development resource to new services, new service models and organizational initiatives, researching best practice at all times.
The Project Officer will be required to liaise with all functions including Operations, Human Resources, Finance and Quality and Governance, among others to ensure the timely start and completion of all the tasks as they relate to current & new business.
Key aspects of the role will be project planning, collaboration, and support to the Contracts Team and wider Business Development team in areas relating to new & existing business.
Minimum Education & Skills required
§ A relevant Third Level qualification in Health and Social Care or related business discipline.
§ Three years’ experience is desirable.
§ Proven track record in project planning and project Management is essential.
§ Knowledge of the preparation of proposals, contract requirements based on the policies and procedures/legal requirements that govern the delivery of day, residential, respite etc. services for people with disabilities.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate* the delivery of the Service Arrangement Contract (SLA) process with the HSE to meet the required deadlines. Develop project plans for service implementation, outlining the programme stages and detailed activities including, risk and issue logging, status reporting, project evaluation
Manage* key projects from start to completion including ongoing projects and new projects coming on stream, within the Contracts team. This will include actively contributing to submissions and business cases along with the design, development, implementation and review of formal project plans, as required.
Liaise* on a regular basis between departments and with relevant external stakeholders including HSE representatives etc. to ensure all relevant information is shared and in particular, that progress with task delivery is achieved and project timelines are met.
Additional requirements
§ Strong project management and problem solving skills.
§ A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of contracts and Tendering is essential.
§ Strong Microsoft Project skills, along with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills.
§ Self starter, ability to work on own initiative
