Job Summary:
Beaumont Hospital is undergoing a significant digital transformation to enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision making across the organisation. While Project Coral represents a key ICT programme introducing Orbis Order Comms, IPM, and Orbis ED to optimise patient flow, clinical documentation, and operational management, the hospital’s digital ambitions extend beyond this programme.
The Transformation Lead – Digital Transformation will work closely with the Clinical Lead to deliver hospital-wide digital transformation, expanding the digital footprint across clinical, operational, and management systems. This includes aligning digital initiatives with Beaumont Hospital’s strategic objectives, integrating data from clinical systems, HR, Finance, and other operational systems, and embedding technology-enabled workflows across the organisation.
Job Purpose
To lead and coordinate digital transformation initiatives across Beaumont Hospital, including Project Coral and other strategic programmes, ensuring technology adoption, process redesign, and staff engagement deliver measurable benefits. The post holder will:

Drive hospital-wide digital transformation initiatives, including the expansion of the digital footprint to support strategic objectives.

Partner with the Clinical Lead to optimise clinical workflows, operational processes, and management reporting.

Lead change management and engagement activities to ensure successful adoption of digital systems.

Monitor and evaluate transformation outcomes, supporting continuous improvement and alignment with organisational priorities.

Responsibilities:
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Hospital-Wide Digital Transformation Leadership

Lead the design, planning, and implementation of digital initiatives across clinical, operational, and management areas beyond Project Coral.

Align digital transformation programmes with hospital strategic objectives and operational priorities.

Promote integration of clinical, HR, Finance, and operational systems to enhance patient care and organisational efficiency.

Change Management and Staff Engagement

Lead engagement with hospital staff to ensure understanding, acceptance, and effective use of digital systems.

Develop and implement change management strategies to embed new workflows and practices.

Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to address barriers to adoption and foster a culture of innovation.

Process Redesign and Operational Optimisation

Analyse workflows and processes across clinical and non-clinical departments to identify opportunities for digital optimisation.

Collaborate with staff and management to redesign processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and data integrity.

Support integration of digital solutions into strategic planning and operational decision-making.

Programme Oversight and Delivery

Oversee delivery of multiple digital transformation initiatives, ensuring they meet objectives and deadlines.

Coordinate with informatics, configuration, reporting, and support teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Identify risks, escalate issues, and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement

Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to monitor digital transformation outcomes across the hospital.

Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement and strategic alignment.

Ensure lessons learned from Project Coral and other programmes inform future digital initiatives.

Degree or postgraduate qualification in health informatics, digital transformation, project management, or related discipline.

Significant experience leading hospital-wide or large-scale digital transformation programmes.

Knowledge of clinical, HR, Finance, and operational systems, with experience integrating data across multiple platforms desirable.

Strong experience in change management, process redesign, and staff engagement.

Proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes from digital initiatives.
