Job Purpose
The Vocational Training Instructor is be responsible for the training and development of all learners on their programmes in accordance with the agreed Training Programme Specification (TPS), together with the day-to-day management and maintenance of all aspects of the programme. The instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.
What we're looking for:
- Technical Qualification in the Catering industry min QQI level 5 and have the NUI Certificate in Training and Continuing Education or an approved equivalent.
- Experience in QQI certification and accreditation process an advantage.
- Training in Assessment Practice or Assessment and Quality Assurance.
- HACCP Certification Level 4.
- Barista training desirable.
- 5 years’ relevant experience in the Catering Industry.
- 2 years teaching/ training is preferable.
- Sound Knowledge of current trends and be competent to instruct in Culinary Arts, Food Safety Management, HACCP, Food Legislation, Industry codes of practice, Catering Operation and Career Planning and Work Experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI qualifications
- Facilitate participants in developing the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to secure progression outcomes.
* * Meet key performance indicators of the contract in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets
- Source, assist and support students with work-related placement and instil by example and direct training proper work attitudes and work behaviours.
- Assist Learners in reviewing previous experiences and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques
- Maintain all records in accordance with both internal & external quality management systems and standards and ensure compliance of same
- Report to Manager all matters pertaining to the programme and inform the Manager in a timely manner problems should arise.
- Perform the role of Course Tutor under the guidance of the management of Rehab Group - National Learning Network and cooperate fully with the centre staff and multi-disciplinary teams and relevant stakeholders such as ETB as required

Salary starting from point 1 €35,039.55 to point 5 €42,470.46, depending on experience and qualification.
