Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for CRH's Technology function, partnering with technology leaders to drive financial performance, cost optimisation, and value realisation. Manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles for technology investments, ensuring robust financial controls and insightful analysis that enables informed decision-making. Drive continuous process improvement and embed commercial thinking across technology operations. Provide coaching and mentorship to finance colleagues whilst operating effectively in a complex, matrixed organisational environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:

Lead the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes for the Technology function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with corporate objectives

Review and challenge business cases for technology investments, evaluating ROI and supporting strategic decision-making

Provide insightful variance analysis and performance reporting, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across the technology portfolio
Financial Control & Governance:

Ensure robust financial controls, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to IFRS and US GAAP standards

Maintain high-quality financial records and support audit requirements
-
Support financial governance of strategic technology programmes, ensuring cost tracking and budget adherence
Technology Business Partnering:

Act as a trusted finance partner to Technology leadership and cost centre owners, providing commercial insights and financial guidance

Build strong relationships across the matrixed organisation, influencing stakeholders at multiple levels to drive financial discipline and value-focused outcomes
Process Improvement & Cost Optimisation:

Identify and implement process improvements in financial planning, reporting, and control mechanisms to drive efficiency and accuracy

Lead initiatives to optimise technology costs, including vendor management, licence optimisation, and resource allocation

Develop and enhance financial reporting tools and dashboards, leveraging automation and data analytics
Coaching & Leadership:

Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to finance colleagues, supporting their professional development

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, commercial awareness, and analytical excellence

Experience / Education
Essential:
-
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)

5-7 years post-qualification experience in finance roles

Proven FP&A experience, preferably within a technology or corporate function

Demonstrated technology partnering or IT finance experience
-
Strong track record of process improvement and driving efficiency
-
Experience operating effectively in a matrixed organisational structure
-
Commercial outlook with ability to influence business decisions
Desirable:

Experience in a global, multi-site organisation

Knowledge of technology cost drivers (cloud, infrastructure, software licensing, ERP systems)

Exposure to large-scale technology programmes or transformation initiatives

Experience with financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, advanced Excel)
