Role Title: Financial Crime Technical Business Analyst – AMLA Implementation

BU/Segment: Data Management / Banking & Financial Services

Location: Dublin, Republic of Ireland (Flexible hybrid working)

Summary of the role:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Crime Technical Business Analyst to lead the implementation of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) regulatory framework across the bank's Financial Crime and Compliance landscape.

The successful candidate will act as a bridge between Compliance, Financial Crime Operations, Risk, Data, and Technology teams to translate AMLA requirements into business processes, data models, controls, and technology solutions. The role requires strong expertise in AML/KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting, and data governance.

The candidate will drive regulatory transformation initiatives, support target operating model design, and ensure successful implementation of AMLA-aligned controls, policies, processes, and technology platforms. Responsibilities align with AML/KYC program delivery, stakeholder engagement, data mapping, regulatory change implementation, and governance activities identified in recent AMLA programs.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

Regulatory Analysis & AMLA Implementation

Interpret AMLA regulations and assess impacts on existing Financial Crime frameworks.
Conduct current-state assessments and gap analyses against AMLA requirements.
Define implementation roadmaps, priorities, and regulatory remediation plans.
Translate regulatory requirements into business, operational, data, and technology requirements.
Support policy, procedure, and control enhancements aligned with AMLA.

Business Analysis

Lead requirements-gathering workshops with Compliance, MLRO, Financial Crime Operations, Risk, and Technology stakeholders.
Prepare business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and operating procedures.
Document target-state operating models and business processes.
Identify control gaps and recommend operational improvements.

Financial Crime Domain Knowledge

Drive requirements related to:
Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
Know Your Customer (KYC)
Customer Risk Assessment
Transaction Monitoring
Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR)
Sanctions Screening
Adverse Media Monitoring
Beneficial Ownership
Politically Exposed Person (PEP) monitoring
Ensure alignment with AMLA, local regulatory obligations, and internal risk frameworks.

Data & Technology

Define source-to-target mappings and data lineage requirements.
Analyse customer, transaction, risk, sanctions, and case management data.
Support implementation of Financial Crime technology platforms.
Collaborate with Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and Product Owners to design AMLA-compliant solutions.
Define data quality controls and regulatory reporting requirements.
Support implementation on cloud and modern data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, and enterprise data lakes.

Testing & Delivery

Define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
Support defect triage and remediation.
Coordinate release readiness and implementation activities.
Track regulatory commitments, milestones, and risks.

Governance & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk, Legal, and Technology teams.
Present status updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Support regulatory reviews, audits, and compliance assessments.
Maintain project governance artefacts and implementation reporting.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

8-12+ years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.
5+ years of experience in Financial Crime, AML, KYC, Sanctions, or Regulatory Change programs.
Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale AML transformation or regulatory compliance initiatives.
Experience leading cross-functional workstreams involving Compliance, Operations, Data, and Technology teams.
Experience in data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting programs.
