About the Role
The IT Infrastructure & Cloud Manager will lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing operation of Laya Healthcare’s infrastructure and cloud platforms. You will ensure secure, scalable, and highly available systems that support business operations and transformation initiatives.
This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy & Delivery
- Develop and execute infrastructure and cloud strategies aligned with organisational goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead cloud transformation programmes, focusing on optimisation, modernisation, and automation.
- Manage hybrid cloud environments across platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365.
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and performance across servers, storage, network, and virtualisation platforms.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of infrastructure and cloud engineers across project and operational activities.
- Drive a high-performance culture with a focus on continuous improvement and skills development.
- Manage budgets, cost forecasting, and optimisation through FinOps practices.
- Oversee vendor and partner relationships, including cloud providers, MSPs, and technology suppliers.
Security, Governance & Compliance
- Partner with IT Security to implement robust security controls and support Zero Trust architecture.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and data protection standards.
- Maintain cloud governance, identity management, and security best practices across all environments.
- Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and testing.
Operational Excellence
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics across infrastructure services.
- Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Ensure effective monitoring, alerting, and reporting across all systems.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with business needs.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture and future-state technology design.
- Represent IT infrastructure in vendor engagements and strategic technology discussions.
About You
Essential
- 7+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or security roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Strong technical expertise across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), Microsoft 365, and infrastructure technologies.
- Experience managing complex IT environments including networking, virtualisation, and security systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience managing major incidents.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with strong attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience with cloud governance, DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management).
- Experience with Microsoft technologies including Entra ID, Power Platform, and data governance tools.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, VMware, Cisco, ITIL).
